The Café Series: The Coffee Club

August 19, 2017
The Coffee Club

When I heard of The Coffee Club for the first time I thought, there must be a good reason behind the name. So to be honest, I had high hopes and lo and behold, this café exceeded my expectations.

There is indeed an exceptionally good reason why they are called The Coffee Club. They have a variety of drinks to choose. They have ice blended teas, hot tea and coffee, milkshakes/monster shakes, fresh juices and so much more. You can check out their menu for the complete list.

Before I continue on and talk about their coffee, food and interior, I just want to put an important information about The Coffee Club. Their café is UTZ Certified, which stands for sustainable farming and better opportunities for farmer and their families. The UTZ program allows farmers to grow better crops, generate more income and create better opportunities while safeguarding the environment and securing the earth’s natural resources now and in the future. Good move The Coffee Club!

Now let’s talk about their drinks and why I’m absolutely coming back for more ♥

The Coffee Club

The Coffee Club is packed with amazing choices of food! They have main courses, desserts, all day breakfasts, sandwiches, and they also have vegan options. This simply shows that they cater to every customer out there! I wish I could have had the chance to try out everything but instead, I opted for the Chef’s menu as a start.

The only downside of a food review is that, you don’t get to eat your meal fresh off the pan. It takes a couple of moments (or more) before you can dig in. Why? You need to take photos. So before I took a bite of this toast I was already expecting the bread to be a little tough, but nope. The middle part of the toast was soft and the edges were surprisingly still crunchy. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked as I requested, and the smashed avocados were everything (because avocados will always be my first love). It’s not a very huge portion, it’s good for one but it is very filling because of the bread, chorizos and tomatoes.

For this choice, instead of having the spicy maple syrup, my friend and I decided to have the sweet version instead. And while waffles are known to get chewy after it’s cold, this one’s a different case. The waffles were still fluffy and soft. Again, the portion was good enough for one person. The combination of eggs and bacon was very filling and with the sweet maple syrup, it’s like you’re having breakfast and dessert at the same time!

The Coffee Club

The Balaleet Brioche Delight is actually a dessert comeback and I’m so glad it’s back on the menu! It’s basically french toast with kiri cheese in between, a dash of cinnamon & caramel with balaleet and raspberries on top. I can’t even express how good this is. The salty cheese flavour from Kiri mixed the classic fluffy french toast will make your sweet tooth crave for more. The portion, by the way, is huge, so it’s perfect for three to four people.

Interior and Customer Service

The Coffee Club

The Coffee Club had a very modern yet rusting setting which somehow gave it a Soho vibe. The place is perfect for working professionals because it’s cozy and quiet. What I loved most about it was, they didn’t have to put a lot of decorations to make you feel comfortable. You’ll instantly feel relaxed with the warm dim lights and a few wall decors.

The customer service was impeccable and not just because I was reviewing the café. I too have observed how their team handled other customers. They greeted all guests with a smile and they were attentive to their wants and needs. Moreover, they were very flexible with any requests that the customers wanted. Jinky and Renon who assisted us during the review were very accommodating and I can’t thank them enough 🙂

How To Get There

The Coffee Club is located in various places in Dubai but, I went to the Al Wasl branch that’s opposite City Walk. If you want to know the other locations, scroll right to the end of this post 🙂 If you’re going to use the public transport, you can get off the Business Bay metro station landside, and take bus no.7. Get off Wasl, Emirates Bank 1 Stop and it’s 4 minutes walk to The Coffee Club. I’ve attached the location map for your convenience.

I would have given it a 5/5 but because I didn’t get the chance to try out the rest of their food, I’ll be honest and stick to 4. First and foremost, I was very happy with the customer service! They were very hospitable, attentive and most of all they were willing to customize your platter if necessary. That, I believe is the way to make your customers come back. The food was great considering they were “The Coffee Club”. Because honestly, there are other cafés who make amazing coffee but lacked flavour on food. The place is very easy to locate and they have other branches across Dubai. The place was very modern, somewhere that a young adult or a working professional would love to stay in if they need some alone time. On the other hand, it’s also great for a group of friends or family who wants a relaxing time together.
